RACHEL RIVERO de POSEY aka NiCaliZolana, of GITANA MUSIC is based in MERCED California. Born in San Francisco, CA she & her sister were raised by their mother. Though they moved often, singing, piano lessons, and church remained all her childhood years, and a gift of having lived in Venezuela as a small girl she is fluent in Spanish.
Life & struggles took her to writing poetry and sing as much as she could in church and elsewhere. In time some of the poetry transformed into songs, writing her first ditty at 12, Froggy Had a Spider.
After moving to the Great San Joaquin Valley & Merced became her new hometown & after a few summers fighting the Valley heat, she realized there was a deep charm and camaraderie amid the region and that though born in "The City," she is a country girl at heart.
Rachel and her musical husband, Daniel Posey are a "yours, mine and ours" family including 7 kids, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 5 sheep, 2 goats, chickens and a horse name Luce. Through good and tough times music has remained Rachel's favorite mode to bring praise to God, make others smile, and keep herself sane! Daniel and Rachel lead worship together in greater Merced area in English and Spanish & have been guests at churches around the Valley & performed on KMPH Great Day with the band Los Calis & Rachel had the great honor of singing the USA and Mexican National Anthems for the Fight for Water II Boxing Match at the Selland Arena, Fresno, CA.
Besides her first job as wife/mom & Worship Leader, Rachel, as a resident of California, the US, & the planet, she hopes that the music she and Daniel do, encourages all Peoples Tribes and Nations to live in Unity and to Love their Creator, & His beloved Humanity! Shalom
